Philippians 4:1 - 9

Sacrifice - Trusting in God

We need to trust the Lord. We can get overwhelemed by the World's messages.

The crown - Not stuff. Not achievement. But people who have come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

vs 2

Disagreement and division.

We need to do conflict resolution.

Gr. Skandalus 'Offence;

Conflict in the Body of Christ

A deceptive trap - Skandalus 'Offense'

- A bait of Satan

Holds the bait

Offense is a tool of the Devil to bring people into captivity.

Offense is usually due to pride.

Pride keeps people from seeing the truth.

The heart condition is hidden from you, but not from God.

He who cannot forgive another breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself.

We need to forgive.

vs 3

Help those who are in confict.

Grace is amazing!

1 Corinthians 11:27 - 32

vs 4

Rejoice

- Be considerate

vs 5

Keep your eyes on Jesus

Give thanks in all circumstances.

All things work for those who love God.

vs 6 - 7

Nothing is too great for God's mighty power.

Rejoice and give thanks

Care for others and refuse to be offended

Remember that Jesus is coming back

Don't worry about anything (reject fear)

Mystery in the Atlantic

Warehouse 13 – Mystery in the Atlantic Part 1

“Where is this ping at?” Agent Myka Bering asked.

It’s an island in the Villimans Archipelago,” Artie Neilson replied over her Farnsworth. “Ny Berk.”

“Niberk?” Agent Pete Laittmer asked.

Ny Berk,” Artie clarified.

“Where is this island, again?” Pete asked.

“Between Ireland and Iceland,” Myka answered.

Which is why you’re going via Reykjavik.”

“Got it.”

Claudia Donovan was looking in old Warehouse files. She came across something that she found interesting. “Ny Berk?” she wondered.  Wasn’t that where Pete and Myka were headed? It seemed that there were already artefacts from there. That, or the Regents had gathered information on the island for some other reason. ‘I better find more information.’

Once in the air, Myka and Pete called Artie again. “Any further information on this island?” Myka asked. “I know about the Archipelago, that it’s population is mostly descended from Norse migrations over a thousand years ago.”

“Vikings, right?” Pete asked.

“Yes,” Myka interjected.

That’s right. Most of the islands have populations descended from the Norse migrations during the Viking period. Most are either part of Norway, Denmark, or the United Kingdom. Some are independent.

“I think they are either Crown Dependencies or Overseas Territories, not part of the United Kingdom itself,” Myka interjected.

Close enough!” Artie admitted.

“So, which country is Ny Berk part of?” Pete asked.

It’s a Crown Dependency of the United Kingdom,” Artie answered.

“Got it,” Pete said.

Claudia found some additional information. “Visited by dozens of Agents since Warehouse 8. That’s interesting.” There was a lot more information than she expected. ‘At least once per century,’ she considered.

Landing in Reykjavik, Pete and Myka waited for their connecting flight. “You think there would be more information here, in Iceland?” Pete asked.

“Almost certainly,” Myka said. “But our plane will leave in less than an hour.” She thought for a moment. “Artie could send Claudia.”

“Maybe.”

Claudia returned to the office. “I’ve found more information on where Pete and Myka are going.”

“Very good,” Artie responded.

“This is far from the first time the place has come to the attention of the Warehouse.”

“You should know by now that artifacts can come from anywhere!”

“Of course,” Claudia said.

“But the information may prove useful.”

Flying into Ny Berk, Pete saw that the island was rather mountainous, with most of the coastline consisting of cliffs. “There hardly seems to be any place for a ship to land,” he commented.

“There is a small harbour on the north shore,” Myka said. “Apparently it takes very skilled navigators.”

“I don’t doubt that.”

“Welcome to Ny Berk.”

“Thanks,” Myka said. She took out a map of the island. ‘The reports are from the main settlement,’ she thought.

“Have you got the lay of the land?” Pete asked.

“Yes,” Myka answered. “We have to head to the main town.”

They soon arrived at the main town. It looked rather crowded, taking up most of the space on a plateau. It also seemed that they had arrived in the middle of rush hour.

“Is it that late?” Pete asked.

“It’s the same time zone as the United Kingdom.”

“Of course!”

“The ping came from the middle of town,” Myka added.

“It will take a while to get there,” Pete groused.

Despite that grouse they arrived at the location of the ping less than fifteen minutes later. “Dragon Inn?” Pete asked.

“I have noticed many motifs of dragons around the town,” Myka said. “I’m sure they have cultural significance.”

“Or it could just be decorations,” Pete responded.

“Quite unlikely,” Myka said. “But we can ask.”

They entered the Inn. “Hello.”

“Bering and Lattimer?”

“Yes,” Myka answered. “We’re investigating the strange occurrence.”

A young woman stood up and walked over to the agents. “Welcome to Nyberk,” she said. “I’m Anna Hofferson.”

“Hi, Anna,” Pete said.

“Aren’t you on the Council?” Myka asked.

“Yes,” Anna answered. “I also work here. I was on when occurrence happened.”

“So, can you tell us what happened in your words?” Myka asked.

“Certainly,” Anna said.

Earlier

Anna was tired. It had been a long night. But something was about to happen. One of the patrons had brought something in and was showing it to one of his friends. Suddenly there was a flash and the guy went crazy whipping it around like it was some kind of dagger. Then he collapsed.

Present

“That’s what happened,” Anna said.

‘That certainly fits,’ Pete thought.

“So, where is this thing now?” Myka asked.

“It’s in the store room,” Anna answered.

“Lead the way,” Myka said.
