Excerpt from: The Engineer and the Time Lady
“It would be risky to eavesdrop,” Zeta said.
“Could we beam a tricorder down from the Calgary?”
Aialah asked.
“No, it could be discovered rather easily,” Alpha said.
“A definite violation of the Prime Directive would ensue.”

Excerpt from: Quinn’s Code
“Yes,” Quinn said.
“Cool,” Jen said with a yawn.
“It has been a long day,” Quinn said, with a look at a
gothic styled wall clock.
“Daria, do you know when Quinn and the others will get
in,” her mother asked, after opening the bedroom door.
“No idea,” Daria responded. “Maybe we should have dinner
now.”
“What happened?”
“I wasn't allowed at the Leung-Bell's.”
“I see,” her mother said. “It's obvious that your
attitude towards Quinn raised some concerns.”
Daria merely nodded.
“Dinner will wait until they're here,” her mother said in
a tone that brooked no discussion, before leaving to let her think on what she
had just said. She was still angry. She went over to the computer and loaded the
files Andrea had given her onto it.
The group arrived back at the Morgendorffers twelve hours
after they had left. “And so, we're back,” Quinn said dramatically. “The day is
almost over.”
“It was mostly a good day,” Jane said.
“How many sketches did you get?” Kristen asked. “I know
you were talking to Keith a while.”
“A few,” Jane answered.
“That's cool,” Kristen said.
“I'm not not upset that Daria wasn't allowed in,” Jane
added.
“I knew that,” Kristen said.

Excerpt from: The Doctor and the Sanctuary
“This is…” she said.
“What?” the Doctor asked.
“Welcome to the Sanctuary,” Haru said.
“Sanctuary?” Martha asked.
“A special place,” Haru said. “And we’re on time. The sun
is about to set.”
“This is definitely strange,” the Doctor murmured.
“You can say that,” Haru said. She pointed to one of the
small buildings. “The Cat Bureau. We help those in need.”
The Doctor looked at the ‘Cat Bureau’ as the Sunset
continued. What had appeared to be a figurine of a cat moved. ‘What?’

He then glared at the Hobbits in general, before talking
to Strider in a derogatory tone. “…Found some friends at last?” he concluded.
Strider only answered with a nod.
“Morning, my little friends,” he said to the Hobbits. I
suppose you know who you have taken up with?” He asked rhetorically. “That Stick-at-naught
Strider, that is! Though I’ve heard other names not so pretty. Watch out tonight.
And you, Samwise don’t be go ill-treating my poor old pony!” He then spat, again.
Hanna shuddered, before Sam Gamgee fired off a retort and
threw an apple at him that hit him square on the nose. “Waste of a good apple,”
Sam said regretfully as curses erupted from behind the hedge.
‘Well, deserved!’ Hanna thought.
They followed the Road for some miles, before coming to a
track that lead off towards the North. “This is where we leave the open and
take to cover,” said Strider.
Pippin didn’t like that. “Not a ‘short cut’, I hope. Our
last short cut through woods nearly ended in disaster.”
Strider laughed. “Ah, but you had not got me with you
then. My cuts, short or long don’t go wrong.”

Excerpt from: An Aquatic Second Contact
That was good. It meant that she had time to look over
her notes again, and ensure that they were clear and concise. “Personal Log. Cerritos
has entered the Theta Aquarii System, containing an M-Class Planet that may be
considered the opposite of Vulcan as it’s surface is almost entirely covered in
Ocean. The humanoids are…” She was interrupted as the door opened, admitting
her colleague, D’Vana Tendi.
“T’Lyn!” Tendi called out. “This is exciting!” she added
while throwing her hands about.
“That isn’t a word I would use,” T’Lyn retorted. “’Intriguing’
would be more appropriate.”
