Meeting a Community
As he parked his car, Benjamin
Danielson wondered whether he had made the right decision. Quite a lot would
depend on what he chose. There was nothing else for it. He would have to go in.
As he entered, he heard at
least one of the hymns that the congregation would be singing as they practiced
for the service. One of the welcomers came up to him. “Welcome to Macquarie
Vale Community Church,” the lady, who seemed to be about his age said. “I’m Sarah
Louise.”
“Benjamin,” he said, shaking
her hand. She seemed to have a strong shake, but a little reserved.
“Are you new to Macquarie
Vale?” Sarah Louise asked.
“Yes. I just moved here. I
needed to find a church,” he answered. He didn’t need to say that he had been a
Christian since he got saved as a teenager. Not yet.
“Cool,” Sarah Louise said.
“I’ll go in now.”
As he entered the sanctuary’s main
hall, the worship team began practicing another hymn “Our God He bridged the
great divide
To offer us eternal life…”
‘Must be a new one,’ he thought.
He hadn’t heard that one before. He soon found an empty pew and opened his Bible.
He looked at the bulletin Sarah Louise had given him.
