85. The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Two plumbers in Brooklyn are drawn into an
adventure. Mario, and Luigi. After a job goes wrong, they find themselves
catapulted into an adventure via mysterious warp pipes. Mario finds himself in
the Mushroom Kingdom, whereas Luigi finds himself captured by Bowser. The
Mushroom Kingdom is realized quite well, with many call backs to the games as
Toad leads Mario to the Castle. Mario and Princess Peach bonding was done quite
well also. Luigi’s experience is quite different. As Bowser tries to find out
what Mario is doing in the Mushroom Kingdom.
The less said about Bowser’s tendencies towards
Peach the better. The scenes with Donkey Kong and the Rainbow Road were rather
good. The climatic scenes in Brooklyn were quite well realized. Overall it was
a rather good film, it was quite worth seeing. 9.53/10.
