“You mean that they would just be
interested in acting?” Clover asked.
“Yes,” Sam answered.
“Let’s just find out what’s
happening!” Alex said impatiently.
“Of course,” Clover said.
They soon were approached by the
stage manager. “Who are you?”
Sam held up an ID card. “Student
reporters, investigating what’s going on here.”

“That’s
not very helpful.”
“I
know it isn’t, but remember that he isn’t human,” Clara said.
“He
looks human,” Lauren said.
“He’s
a Time Lord, from Gallifrey.”
“Sounds
pretentious.”
Clara
laughed. “That’s right.”

“Nothing,
I’m afraid.”
“I
thought it would be something like that,” the Enigma said.
“I
probably won’t find out before you do.”
“You
mean they’re withholding information?”
“Probably,”
Peterson said. “I told Ninja Talon this once before. That my interactions with
you and the other vigilantes have made my superiors nervous.”
“That
doesn’t surprise me.”
“And
you can tell Dafoanairi that too.”
“I
suspect she has already figured that out,” the Enigma said.
Dafoanairi
headed home through the laneways after leaving Tania at her home on Grandstaff
drive. She was thinking about how Tania had responded to the unexpected
squirrel. ‘She might need help,’ she concluded when she entered her family’s
yard. But she then saw SpiderGirl on the roof. ‘I guess I could get inside
without her noticing.’
SpiderGirl
turned and saw Dafoanairi approaching the house. ‘Of course! But I can’t give
myself away.’
Dafoanairi
saw SpiderGirl turn. ‘Oh! I guess we’re talking anyway.’ She then grabbed her
rope and thew it up.’
“You’re
looking over Lawndale from here too?” SpiderGirl asked.
“You
could say that.”
“Or
you were just passing through their yard?”
“Maybe,”
Dafoanairi said.

Excerpt from: Luci’s Sorting
‘What did I expect? I’m ‘Lucius and Narcissa’s perfect
daughter’. I’m ambitious.’ She paused as she noticed her Housemates looking at
her.
“Welcome Luci,” Professor Snape said as she passed him.
“Thank you,” she said formally. She then went and sat in
a seat which others in her House had set aside for her. ‘Of course,’ she
thought.
As she watched other students being Sorted, often with
great delibration, she found that she was still annoyed with the Hat for not
hesitating. ‘I’ll prove that I’m more than what it saw!’ she thought.
Even so, she wasn’t aware of the role she would play alongside
the Boy Who Lived in the years ahead at Hogwarts and in Wizarding Britain overall,
and her contribution to the defeat of He Who Must Not Be Named.

Excerpt from: Spider Quinn
“Yes.
Talon and I were out at the ziggurat after school.”
“What
did you find?”
“That
his assistant and the graduate students have no idea what happened,” SpiderGirl
answered.
“Then
we’re still at square one.”
“But
we’ll investigate further tomorrow.”
“So
will the Enigma and I,” Dafoanairi said.
The
two heroines then sat awkwardly next to each other on the roof. SpiderGirl was
reminded of when the Shadow had cased the house one time when she thought that
she was Daria. ‘But that was one time, and she didn’t do it again. I doubt
Daria suspects that SpiderGirl is her sister.’ She still didn’t want Daria to
know. She turned again and looked towards the downtown.
“So,
you listen to the town from here?” Dafoanairi asked.
“Yes.
It’s a good vantage point.”
After
another few minutes, Dafoanairi had figured out how to sneak into the house
without SpiderGIrl noticing. She waved goodbye and then threw her rope down the
front of the house, down in front of the loft and the front door. ‘Neither Mom,
nor Quinn would see.’ She did so and then slipped around in front of the garage
and around the corner to where she could climb in on the trellis.
SpiderGirl
turned back after Dafoanairi had slipped off the roof and less than a minute later,
the lights of Daria’s lamp could be seen reflecting off of the neighbor’s
trees. ‘If I hadn’t already confirmed it.’ She then heard sirens to the south ‘Responsibility
calls,’ she thought before swinging away.
