1918
Americas
The RAWN completes its conquest of Columbia.
The RAWN conquers most of Minnesota...
The proportion of Minnesota Norse speakers in Midgard County drops below 52%.
A large number of people in the County manage to escape being caught in the crossfire between the US and RAWN forces, by leaving their towns until the RAWN had captured the area. This includes 4 year old Astrid Andersson (who would be the last native speaker of the Minnesota Norse language) and her mother Elsa Andersson. (But her father doesn't survive.)
In eastern Minnesota overall, the number drops below 24%.
In Minnesota overall, the number drops below 11.8%.
Within the RAWN/US/KoA overall (excluding Minnesota) it drops below 1.3%.
The US strongholds in the far southwest are conquered by the Kingdom of America.
Europe
The 'minor' rationalist rebellion in Portugal becomes more serious after the guerilla forces manage to capture a large number of towns in the south...
The Bohemian Civil War continues...
Africa
The Angolan Empire recognises both the RAWN and Oceania as the successors to the US and Antipodia respectively.
Asia
Srivijaya supports Antipoda until the last few months. (See below.)
Australasia-Pacific
The Antipodia-Oceania Civil War comes to an end, after the Antipodan holdout in Albany is defeated.
The Srivijayan task force is evacuated via a few troop carrying airships to the naval taskforce waiting near Cape Leeuwin. However many are lost when one of the airships falls victim to a group of fighter airplanes (especially as the Srivijayans are certainly still using hydrogen...)[1]. It would seem that the usefulness of airships in war is at an end.
The RON Olympia, the first purpose built airplane carrier ship is launched, a month after the defeat of Antipodia at Albany.
Armidale's population reaches 3450.
Dubbo's population reaches 3900.
[1] Only the US, RAWN, Kingdom of America, England and Scotland would be using Helium in their airships...
