“Yes. I'm concerned. You've been, reclusive, since Felicia vanished.”

Jia'hale nodded. “If she can vanish like that, then any of us can vanish.”

“No. But that's all I can articulate at the moment.”

“You want to talk to the Doctor instead?”

“You’re new here?”

“Just moved to Macquarie Vale. I needed to find a Church.”

“This is a good place for fellowship. It’s growing and the messages are always firmly based in Scripture,” Daniel said.

He knew that learning a new language was difficult! As he rubbed the sore spot, he considered that he was still nervous himself. He looked back to her and saw that she was starting to breath quicker.
He grabbed her hands in a comforting gesture. Relax. She calmed down, and the spark returned to her eyes. He decided that it was time. No point in delaying it. He then asked if she would like a dance.
She agreed with a nod, of course. They then walked to the dance floor hand in hand.
‘This will be a good night,’ he thought as they rubbed each other’s lower cheeks while dancing slowly.

Excerpt from: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Jake’s Challenge
“What’s the matter, son?” Quark asked as he lead Jake to one of the holosuites.

“Nothing you’d understand,” Jake shot back.

“Nog told me about the writing assignment. I understand plenty. You want to impress Mrs. O’Brien, is that it?”

“Yes. But I don’t think a Ferengi mindset would help me here.”

“What do you mean?” Quark asked, slightly offended. Hu-mon’s! Always thinking they’re better than everyone else!

“I mean. I’ve looked at your inventory of holo-programs. The one’s that are suitable for all ages I mean.”

“And?”

“And they are all based on similar storylines. Only the characters and settings are different.”

“People buy what they like. So, the writers write what they like. Simple business sense.”
“Is that a Rule of Acquisition?”

“No,” Quark admitted with a shake of his head. “But it should be. But I don’t think Zek would want to add it.”

“Back to my point. I suppose almost all of Ferengi entertainment is full of the same storylines that are rehashed every so often to capture the market of a new generation with latinum to spend?”

“You’re right. You know, you’re surprisingly astute in this matter.”

“Look at Earth’s history. You’ll find that the film industry in California was like that from the late 20th century onwards,” Jake said as they arrived at the holosuite.

“Weapons and defence systems.”

“Yes. Phased Energy weapons, Phasers; and Quantum Torpedoes. Deflector shields to defend against enemy weapons fire. The latter had failed before the crash. They're now fully repaired.”

Nina knew Alpha was holding something back, most likely the status of the torpedo inventory, but didn't ask. “That's good,” she said, regarding the repair status of the shields.

Alpha pointed to the port console. “The Operations Console, where ships systems are monitored and the crew's activities managed.” She then walked back to the rear consoles.

That was something that hadn’t happened for a while, probably not more than once since her last regeneration. “Ok, don’t be all staring at me like that.”

RMG 2019 - 1944 Map

52 Tales of 2019 - Reverse Map Game 2019 - 1944

1944
North America
Canada
Reports of Great Lakes massing troops near Detroit (and other border areas) are met with concern by most Canadians. However, both the Dominion Government and Westminster continue to pursue policies of appeasement regarding Coughlan's rhetoric. (And that of the Dakotan and Cascadian governments.)

Cascadia
Preparations for war continue.

Dakota
Dakotan perparations for war are further along than the Cascadians.

Great Lakes
Unknown elsewhere, Coughlin confers with the Dakotan and Cascadian Ambassadors to set an invasion date...

United States
Congress passes a law that states English is the only official language of the Federal Government. The social discontent that had been plaguing Cuba breaks out into massive uprisings. It is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Later in the year, the Democratic Candidate Harry S. Truman gains the majority of the Electoral Votes, defeating the Republican Incumbent James S. Davis.

Mexico
Secretly the Mexican government considers supporting the Cuban uprising. However, most of them are more concerned about the rhetoric coming out of TUNA...

Europe
At Westminster, the Government continues to pursue it's policy of appeasement. There is a diplomatic crisis when Germany annexes Kosice-Preslov, but war doesn't result.

The French Government ramps up preparations for a war that some see is inevitable.

A 'Referendum' in Kosice-Preslov turns out to be in favour of annexation by Germany. German troops move in immediately. Heidler and his supporters are growing in confidence.

The same can be said of the Polish Government, with Casimir III ordering the production of more Anti-Russian propaganda for broadcast.

Asia
Iran prepares for the invasions of Israel and India in the next year.
