Class 1.08 Review

1.08 The Lost
Ambivalence. That's what I feel about this finale. What was threatened for the last 7 episodes finally happens. The Shadow-kin are wiped out by the expired Rhodians. The effects for the implosion of the Shadow-kin planet are poor compared to that of Vulcan in the first of the Star Trek reboot/Kelvin Timeline movies (really? It's 7 years later!). Then there is the revelation of the nature of the Governors. That is certainly interesting, but it's what leads up to that revelation that would be getting my goat.
Charlie giving in and killing the Shadow-kin? At least it was developed. However, the way it was developed leaves much to be desired. More on that in the overall review. The best parts of the episode were the character moments. The scene where April was playing folk tunes, was rather good. It shows that she has gained confidence in herself and in her music. However the development regarding her at the end of the episode is rather weird, not interesting at all. I'm not sure what to make of it.

Ms. Quill's condition is elaborated upon, but not much comes of it (although more is revealed about Quill culture.) However the real ending, with the nature of the Governors being revealed. I'm not sure why they had Dorothea killed, she could have been developed further in the next series. But their alliance with the Weeping Angels. What would the Weeping Angels get out of it? But it is certainly intriguing. Overall I give this a 8/10.
