Kingdom
With the war over, it was time for changes. Westminster passes the
Empire-Commonwealth Renaming Act 1954. The act sets the stage
for the decolonisation that would come in later history. The most
immediate effect is Queensland and New Zealand gaining independence.
Another effect is the Imperial Council being renamed to the
Commonwealth Council. The name change of the Imperial Commonwealth
of the Nations of Greater Britannia, the Northlands and their
Dominions (or British Empire) to the Commonwealth of Nations
(Commonwealth) would take place the next year, after India's
independence.
(Of course, the Imperial Council was always subordinate to
Westminster, with the Prime Minister capable of vetoing any decisions
the Dominion Representatives could put forward.)
Iberia
In Madrid, an Espinoist march is stopped by police before it can
start...
In Portugal, reforms take place to allow for elections to be more
free and fair. (Until this point, there had been a lot of corruption
and electoral fraud...)

Negotiations as to what to do with Germany following the War
continue.
The Romanian civil war continues, with Russia intervening.

The Turkish-Iranian war continues.
Mysore is absorbed into India.

The population of Armidale reaches 12600. (Only 530 speak Danish as a
first language.)
The population of Dubbo reaches 21000.
The Dominions of Queensland and New Zealand gain full independence
from the United Kingdom.
In Western Australia, soldiers returning from the War (even those
from other Dominions) are given first preference in new settlement
blocks...
