A separatist uprising in East Minnesota is defeated. This would contribute to the re-distribution of the regional borders the next year.

United States
With the damage done during World War Two having been repaired; Rhode Island gains Statehood.

The construction of the facilities in the the District of Washington-Columbia remains on schedule for completion the next year.

The 20th Amendment is ratified, bringing forward the start date of incoming Presidential terms to January 20th, rather than March 4th as had the custom been before hand.

It is noted that recovery from the Great Drought in Kansas and Oklahoma is almost complete.

In Hollywood, Age of Exploration films prove to be most popular.


Mexico
More stabilisation occurs. The unrest on the southern-western coast calms down significantly.


South America
The rebels in Aranda continue to gain ground.


Africa
The Spanish sell another Somali port to the Germans.

In South Africa, universal suffrage becomes law.


Europe
Owing to rhetoric of 'Make the Empire Great Again,' the Imperial Party wins the most seats in the House of Commons in the General Election early in the year. However, unlike during the War, they have to coalition with the Conservatives to get into Government. Almost immediately, they begin planning for war in Canada, as a way to boost the economy.

Fire destroys Arthur Hall, an old records store attached to the Britannian Library, Many old records not stored elsewhere are lost.

Another fire breaks out in Westminster Hall, but is put out before any major damage occurs. New Prime Minister, Vidkun Quisling blames both fires on 'Treacherous Danes...'

Ireland continues to stabilise following it's independence following WWII. The first uninterrupted elections are held.

In France, the first film adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame met with great aclaim.

Italy annexes Sardinia.

The Danish Government issues a strident denial that it had anything to do with any fires in London.


Asia
The People's Republic of China continues to conquer the remaining warlords.

Japan continues to stabilise following WWII.

The Iranians defeat the uprising in Afghanistan.


Oceania
In Western Australia, the proportion of Dutch speakers drops below 3%.
