“Don’t
worry, Victoria, you are going to survive the events of the next
week,” Marlene said.
Tori
was relieved that she would survive the coming events of the next
week. She hoped that Marlene wasn’t lying. However, she didn’t
like being called by her full name. She stormed off.
“Wait!”
Marlene called out after her.
It
was now 7:00.
Sandi,
Olivia, Martin and the others entered the McDonalds for breakfast.
Despite everything that was happening, it was open.
Zarabeth
and Sonja had searched the secret rooms beneath the science block and
were now searching the Library beneath the official school library.
“What
do you think the purpose of this secret library is?” Sonja asked.
She had many ideas about it but wanted to hear what Zarabeth’s
opinion was.
“I
have no idea,” Zarabeth said.
“I
suppose that we could try reading some of these books and perhaps
find out that way,” Sonja said.
“I
suppose so,” Zarabeth said. Sonja grabbed a book from a science
shelf. ‘It is strange that they would use the Dewey Decimal System
in a secret library,’ she thought.
Marlene
had tried to talk to Tori again, but Tori wasn’t having a bar of
it. “There is nothing I can do. She is going to go down that path
that I was afraid that she was going to go down,” Marlene said,
with a sad tone to her voice.
“But
what does that mean? Can I do anything about it?” Nicki asked. ‘I
hope that I can do something about it,’ she thought.
“You
could try, but I’m afraid she is going down that path,” Marlene
said.
