Excerpt from: The Loneliness of Alex

“Coool,” Tiffany said.

“I suppose so,” Stacy said. “But what if they're wrong?”

“Then we'll talk about that too,” Quinn answered.

“Sure,” Stacy said, although she sounded unsure.

Hidden Places in Japan: Five Months, seven days

Aialah wasn't sure which one to start with. “The Nordic Ice Queen is the shortest and the British Hidden Society is the longest.”

“You don't have to go through all of it at once,” Alpha said, seeing that Aialah was indecisive.

The Temesis was winding more as they approached the city. Katherine wondered why they had changed to the river earlier. Nimue hadn’t given much of an answer, other than that there was too much traffic on the Road. “I can see, something,” she said.

“We’ll be there by sunset,” Nimue said as the boat finished rounding the bend.

“Good,” Katherine said. The City was impressive, with the relatively new construction outside the walls sprawling towards them.

They pulled up to a dock shortly before sunset to find Merlinus waiting for them. He came on board. “Very good, Nimue,” he said with a smile, before saying. “Katherine Robertius. I thought you’d look a little older.”

Katherine nodded. “I’m sorry that I caused a problem for the Empire.”

“You did what you thought was right, but you can help us quell the unrest,” Merlinus said.

Katherine wasn’t sure how she could, but nodded anyway. “Sure.”

Nimue secured the boat to the dock and followed Merlinus and Katherine into the city. She was also unsure how Katherine would help quell the crisis. But then, there were many things Merlinus didn’t tell her.

Excerpt from: Convergence on Lawndale

“Quinn!” Stacy Rowe called out.

“Hi, Stacy,” Quinn said warmly.

“You were with that guy again, weren’t you?” Sandi Griffin asked in an icy tone.

“Sandi!” Quinn cried out. “Not right here…”

“And why not?” Sandi asked.

“I don’t want the whole school to know!” Quinn retorted.

“I guess not,” Sandi said.

“Peter Parker!”

Peter turned to see the Asian American women coming towards him. “Angela Li, is it?” he asked. He resisted the urge to compare her to J. Jonah Jameson.

“Yes. Principal of Laaawndale High! I’d like to know why the School District forced me to accept your employment here!”

“You want to watch first?” John asked.

“Um, sure,” Quentin said, although he hadn't seen it before.

It was a cone-shaped craft about 15 feet long, with an air speed of, oh, I'd estimate mach 12. They kidnapped and stripped me, examined me briefly, returned my clothes, and dropped me here.

At the Dutchman Inn, Phillip called long distance to Colorado. “Phillip!

“Hi, Wallace,” Phillip said to the young man who had been more of a sister to her than Quentin Brocklethwaite had.

Mom and Dad said you've made it to Lanedale?” Wallace Addams said.

“I have, but the Brocklethwaites are rather busy. When I got to the house, there was no one there.”
