While Quinn and Tiffany were getting to know each other (and disparaging the Self-esteem class), Daria and Jane arrived at Jane's house, in one of Lawndale's older subdivisions. Daria noticed that the front lawn was growing wild, and a strange metal sculpture to the left of the front path. “Interesting yard,” she commented.

“That's not all that would be 'interesting',” Jane said as she opened the door. Daria saw that the lack of attention devoted to the yard also extended to the inside of the house. It looked like the floor hadn't been vacuumed for weeks.

“I see,” she said.
