Prologue: Hendricks
is involved
Friday, 2nd
November 2018
Dubidale, New
Lancreshire, Australia
It had been a long, exhausting, day for Corrine Hendricks when she
managed to get home at 5:30. While most of her students had been well
behaved, there were a couple in year 8 who seemed determined to make
it as difficult as possible for her to teach them. Of course, that
wasn't the sole reason she was so busy, there were other issues at
the school that she had to deal with. As such as she had tried to
keep up with the reports, there were still a few she needed to
complete. She parked the car in the garage and then went to the
mailbox.
There was no mail. She had unlocked the front door when she heard a
sound. She turned around and saw another woman on her front lawn,
close to the verandah. “Who are you? Why are you here?” she
asked, trying not to sound scared.

However, Elias had entered one of
the Chemistry professor's offices, from where he could see into the
foyer of the Network Services Building.
“Kelsington is after you?”
Dr. Max Gunderson, Inorganic Chemistry Lecturer, asked, after Elias
had explained some of the situation to him.
“I think so. Their agent thinks I inspired the protest movement
amongst the student population,” Elias answered.
“And have you?”
“I don't think so,” Elias answered.
“I believe you. You wouldn't
believe some of things I have heard about Kelsington,” Dr.
Gunderson said.
“I'm sure I could believe it.”
Elias murmured. He could then see the Agent go up the stairs within
the Network Services Building, towards the second floor, where the
Calculator Labs were. “I have viewed many net-archives...”
“Only some of it,” the
lecturer argued. “Their more questionable activities wouldn't be
put up on a net-archive, even if it's disreputable, for all to see.”
Elias had to concede that point.

As
Jameson left the console room his team followed him. The Doctor got
to work to try to scan through the interference given off by the
Stargate.
“How
does it work?” Lana asked. “That it is larger on the inside?”
The
Doctor gave an exhasperated sigh. “It would be beyond your
comprehension. You have to be a Time Lord to understand it all.”
“I
doubt that,” Lana said.
“Much more advanced than the Ancients, Lana,” Daniel said.

Daniela
Olmos wasn't sure how she had got into this situation. One minute she
was stealthily, carefully, moving through the poorly lit corridor.
The next she was hanging in a net over a tank of piranhas. From the
way they were moving, she was sure they were quite hungry. Still, she
had got out of tougher situations. With a sigh, she recalled how she
had been enlisted into this latest mission.
A
few weeks earlier
Daniela
arrived home after a long day at the office. It was rather exhausting
with 'urgent' phone calls coming in left, right and centre. However,
she had been able to complete a report with a day to spare. However,
as soon as she opened the door she saw that her housemate hadn't done
the floor before she had left that morning. There was dust
everywhere.
'Imogen! You're in throuble now!' she thought as she closed the door
and went to the kitchen. She saw that Imogen at least had done the
washing up that morning.
She
put her purse on the bench and looked at the time, 5:45. A short time
to relax before preparing dinner.
A
few minutes later, after she had turned on the TV, there was a phone
call. She picked up the phone.
