In Kansas, a referendum is held regarding the return of rights to non-Christian groups. The Westbro Baptist Church protests the motion, causing gridlock in Topeka on December 12.
In Panama, the number of Costa Rican Refugees is such that the number of Spanish speakers now outnumber English speakers.
The Costa Rican Civil War goes on.
Europe
After referenda are carried out the Republic of Hanover and the City State of Bremen join the UEDE. (The governments were concerned about overdue influence from Paris, prior to this. They decided to put the decision to the people.)
Africa
The Federal Republic of Somalia takes more territory from the People's Federation of Somalia and the Somali Sultanate.
The Communist forces in South Sudan loose territory.
In the People's Republic of Guinea, Ivorian rebels capture more territory.
The Communist forces in Benin are driven further north.
Asia
In Tibet, the People's Liberation Army captures more territory from the Monarchist and Rationalist forces, and wipes out the Ordinist rebels.
The Monarchists also capture ground from the Rationalists.

Susan: You have specials, don’t you?
Waiter: Liver
Susan: Liver. I don’t think I like it.
Waiter: Spleen, Brain Stem, Eyes.
Clara: Hmm, Is there a lot of demand for those?
Susan: I’m sure that’s not what is on the menu. We are what is on the menu!
Waiter: Lungs, Skin
Susan reaches up and rips skin from the waiter’s face, revealing a metal mesh with a frame behind it.
Clara: Okay. Robot in a mask.

Susan: Plainly there are no damsels in distress, or castles. Nor there is any such thing as Robin Hood!
An arrow slams into the TARDIS next to her. A figure dressed in Lincoln Green pops up from behind a tree on the other side of the stream.
Robin Hood: You called? Very nice trick with the box, ma’am. I saw a Turk perform something very similar at Nottingham Fayre.

When they arrived at the Operations Centre, Matthews entered his office. “Computer, transfer list of personnel to desk unit.”

One of the soldiers holds a portable scanner. She scans Clara.
Soldier: She’s clean.
She scans Susan.
Soldier: Some unusual anatomy, but she’s clean.
