Excerpt from: The Engineer and the Time Lady
“Lawndale Sun
Herald?” Aialah asked as she looked at the newspaper. She supposed that was
the name of the town. Lawndale. ‘Sounds very suburban,’ she thought.
“Name of settlement
confirmed,” the computer reported. “Lawndale.”
“Aialah to Baffin.
It’s called Lawndale.”
“Acknowledged,” Alpha said.
“Investigate further. Find a library and research the history of the area.”
“Understood. Aialah out.”
“Computer, access the
internet. Download information on Lawndale and it’s neighbouring region,” Alpha
ordered.
“Affirmative.”

Daria sighed.
Having endured Ms. Barch’s misandry Daria went to lunch.
She entered the cafeteria and saw the cliques various people were in. ‘Where to
sit?’ she wondered. She looked around. She saw Brittany sitting with other
cheerleaders and Jodie sitting with an African American guy. ‘Looks like
they’re a couple,’ she thought. She decided to sit by herself.

Excerpt from: Daria – Trouble in Lawndale
“Yes, Daria,” Ms. Defoe said. “This is Jane Lane.”
“Hi,” Daria said.
“Jane Lane. Ms. Defoe says that you’re into alternative
art.”
“I suppose,” Daria allowed. “Are you to?”
“I have some of my art here,” Jane said. “Ms. Defoe?”
“The storeroom is open, Jane,” Defoe said.
Daria entered the storeroom after Jane. She could see
many paintings with a similar style. All of them alternative.
“You’ve picked an interesting time to start here,” Jane
said, interrupting her examination of one of the paintings.
“Oh?” Daria asked.
