1.04 Co-owner of a Lonely Heart
This fourth episode is better than the third. There are many
interesting developments, especially when it comes to April... (Not
sure what to make of her relationship with Ram continuing from the
last episode, but that's an aside.) The ongoing effects of her
'heartsharing', her family background, all of it was well written.
That the therapy as a result of that background has made her
stronger, and able to face against the Shadow-kin (or at least
willing to), this helps to improve the score. Her going through the
crack to the Shadow-kin world in definitely a good cliff-hanger.
Then there is the side story, with Miss Quill and the new
headmistress. It certainly deepens the mystery about the Governors.
It seems that they have knowledge of the cracks in space-time around
the school, and access to unusual resources. (It turns out that they
are responsible for the robot inspector.) There is also a new threat,
some kind of razor sharp flower petals that are multiplying?
And interesting introduction. 8.5/10.
