Chapter 1: Loneliness
of Alex
“As
long as you can join the track team later if you want. Never know how
much we can handle until we try though,” his father, Hank said.
“What
about you, Darian? What about your first day?” Jackie asked her
other son.
“Well
my history teacher hates me because I know all the answers, but there
are some interesting idiots
in my class,” Darian answered.
“That's great!”
“Jackie!”
“Darian,
your mother's trying to tell you not
to judge people until you know them...” Hank began.
Several streets away, Alex was having his own dinner. He arrived in
the dining room usual time, 7:00 PM on the dot. As usual, his father
had set the table, the usual food for Monday night was waiting. He
sat down and waited for his father to ask how school was.
“How was school today, Alex?” His father asked.
“The usual,” Alex said in his usual quiet tone.
“I received another call from Mr. Li tonight. t appears that they
still think you have low self esteem.”
