Doctor Who – Mystery on Kalia Alpha
Angie
Maitland arrived home to see that the Doctor was waiting outside for Clara,
with the TARDIS blocking the footpath. “Hi Doctor,” she said as she came up.
“Hi,
Angie. Could you let me in?”
“That’s
up to Clara,” Angie said.
“She’s
been getting ready. We’re only going to the future.”
“Safer
than that amusement park?” Angie asked with a shudder. That was an experience
she didn’t want to relive!
“It depends,” the Doctor responded.
“On
what?”
“On what
the nature of the danger is.”
“As long
as it’s not Cybermen,” Angie said.
“There
are some things out there worse than Cybermen!” the Doctor added.
“I don’t doubt that!”
Clara then opened the door. “No, you’re not coming with
us,” she said.
“I want a trip without being nearly upgraded or
assimilated!” Angie shot back. She looked Clara over. She had dressed elegantly
with her hair tied back in a French braid.
“I suppose that’s reasonable,” the Doctor said.
“Don’t give her any ideas,” Clara said.
“Please!” Angie said.
“No!” Clara said. “Go to your room.”
“Oh, you’re no fun!” Angie said as she entered the house.
“You were not very accommodating,” the Doctor said.
“I have a duty of care. I don’t want her in danger,”
Clara said, as she entered the TARDIS and approached the console.
“I suppose I could take her on another trip when she’s
older,” the Doctor mused, as he laid in the coordinates. He paused as she saw
Angie slip in the through the door. He was sure she had heard what he had just
said, but also that Clara hadn’t seen her.
“If she’s an adult, then you can,” Clara said.
“Sure,” the Doctor said, giving time for Angie to make a
decision, whether to stay or go. He awaited a few more seconds before setting
the TARDIS in motion with Angie still on board.
