55. True Grit (1969)
The previous adaption of the novel by Charles
Portis. This version of Mattie Ross isn’t quite as consumed by revenge as the
other. She is livelier, but that doesn’t reduce her determination and stubbornness
any. The story of her quest and the consequences thereof were still depicted
very well. However, the cinematography isn’t as well developed. Even so the prairie
was still showed off very effectively. 8.92/10.
